  Hi Eleanor,

Yes, but it won't know if the caller id is blocked.

  All the best

  Steve

Thanks Steve but surely the type of computer in my Contacts folder knows it
is her. If it did not know it could not tell me her number. Now if Sharon my
niece sends me a text it says Sharon and Sharon's number is registering with my
Contacts folder isn't it and her number matching with it. Now when my friend
Rosie sends me a text I have her in my contacts folder as Rosie so why does it
not match her number with her name. In the text I get her number. Do you
understand what I am saying.

    Hi Eleanor,

Yes, if she blocks her number and makes it private, there is no way the
phone can know it is her.

    All the best

    Steve

I have asked similar question but not the same question as I am going to
ask right now.

Having sorted my Contacts folder now when I get a text message from someone
it gives their name. However, one friend for business reasons has her ID
turned off so when I get a call from her it says Private Number. When I get a
text message from her, though she is in my Contacts by name it does not give
her name but instead it gives her telephone number. Is this to be expected? I
know it is her telephone number and immediately I know the message is from her
but why does not it not give her name as it is in my Contacts folder?

    Eleanor
