I had a play around in that menu this morning.
It was only that I had not heard this message before, when using my N70.

Hi Mark,
Let's start at the beginning.
On your old N70, you didn't hear anything like active diverts when making a
call. This is because, Talks, when you bought it originally wasn't as
advanced as it is now.
A divert can be:
diverting a call to your answer phone as Steve says,
forwarding a call to an alternative number.
To look at your diverts, go to tools, settings, phone, then divert. you can
divert not only voice calls but data calls and fax calls. The one we're
concerned with here is voice calls. You have 5 choices:
1, all voice calls,
2. if busy,
3. if out of reach,
4. if not answered,
and lastly 5. if not available.
Pressing options and arrowing down to status on any of these will tell you
which ones are active.
In my case and yours, you will automatically have 3 diverts active, If busy,
if not answered and if out of reach.
All it means is that Talks is telling you the once you make a call, the
diverts are automatically on for anyone trying to get through to you.
Also, this means that your answer phone service should be working properly.

Hello,
I've noticed when dialling from my N86, Talks says something about Active
Diverts.
Should this be on, or will the phone still work if I deactivate or switch
off Active Diverts?
What is the purpose of this?
Surely, if there is a signal, and you're happy with your chosen operator,
Active Diverts shouldn't be necessary.
