[tabi] proposed StarMetro/Dial-a-Ride changes coming before city commission Wednesday

Hi all,
Thanks to John Plescow, he's pointed out that StarMetro has an item for the
upcoming city agenda on Wednesday, where they seem to be requesting route
and service changes. As far as we know, StarMetro has made no public
announcement or explanation of their upcoming request (recall after their
last public discussion of this issue they withdrew their proposed changes to
be re-worked).
I've written them asking for a textual explanation (there are some maps
attached to the agenda item, but they aren't clear as to the changes).
John notes "holiday" service is being proposed to be changed to be the same
as "Sunday" service, and he believes this may apply to Dial-a-Ride as well.
He also believes that they are removing the route which runs directly from
Southwood up Capitol Circle to NE Tallahassee, along with other route
changes, and reductions in the number of times the buses run on
various routes.
I would suggest if you have any strong feelings on these issues that you may
wish to wait perhaps until this evening for an official explanation from
StarMetro, and if we don't end up with any, then I'd write the city
commission based on John's understanding of things, to express your
concerns.
