AFSCME e-UpdateSorry, but I must say, in no disrespect but, in all earnesty.

Observations like the one you use at the end of your post Daniel, strikes me as
being very possibly, a misguided missile!

This is very good I like the afscme, they are well known for doing Civil
Rights work with the late Dr. King.
As a conservative Republican I believe that when workers are being abused of
we must stand up.
Especially because so many of our people who are Blind, and visually
impaired work for government agencies right now.
They want to privatize everything, but that is no guarantee that workers
will receive proper wages especially now a days.
So yes I do believe that this is something that we must stay alert to,
because we can't afford to get behind the eight ball on this one.
We must also understand that the country is very angry right now, and they
do at times seek to take out that anger on the wrong people disabled and
disadvantaged among us.

I'm glad to be your humble and obedient servant,

Choose ye this day whom you will serve. If YHWH be Elohim, then serve him,
with all of your heart. However, if Baal be your god, then serve him. As for
me, and my house. We choose to serve YHWH!

The late Bishop Joe O Patterson told a story long ago, when I was a small
child. about the show down, between Elijah, and the 450 false prophets of
Baal. He shared with us how Elijah, stood, and told the false prophets to go on
ahead, and call their god first. Because they had a much larger program. He
talked about how they had 450 participants to introduce. Elijah was so sure of
YHWH, he with confidence said, that he only had one. Elijah also reminded
them, that they had to drag their fake god up the mountain side on an ox cart.
Elijah also announced to the world, that his Elohim would be there when he
arrived. He said mockingly, you go on ahead. Heck, I will even let you have
prime time. I'M going to take a nap, and when you guys finish your
foolishness, wake me up. Go ahead now, take your best shot.
  Bishop Joe O Patterson
  A blessed memory

thanks everyone for the encouragement; you know, I hated to be seen allowing
just myself to break the rules; but as it seems ok, here's the message, which
is a warning and a plan for all those who hold government jobs:

  Subject: Five Things

"We can no longer live in a society where the public employees
are the haves and taxpayers who foot the bills are the have-nots," - Scott
Walker, new governor of Wisconsin

                       5 things you can do

                          5. When you see or read articles about the attacks on
us, weigh in on the comments section. These comments influence others and can
help get our message out.

              Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Public service workers are under an unprecedented attack. That
quote by the new governor of Wisconsin is one example of the attacks we are
facing across the nation.

The New York Times ran an article this week on the challenges we
are facing, particularly from Republican governors and legislators who see
long-term advantages in destroying the labor movement and public sector unions.
You can read the article here.

Also this week, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show had a segment about
the efforts of right-wing politicians and media to scapegoat our members. It's
an excellent analysis of these efforts and we encourage you to watch it. Click
here to view.

These attacks are brutal and they are just the beginning. Every
day there are more calls by our opponents for budget and tax cuts, the
privatization of public services and the elimination of our collective
bargaining rights.

We are fighting back to make sure that our side of the story gets
out. Last month, we brought together 200 AFSCME activists, local leaders and
retirees to meet with key experts and allies at a pension conference in
Washington, DC. AFSCME activists and outside experts discussed the challenges
we face, shared best practices and developed innovative messages and strategies
to defend our modest pensions against this unprecedented assault. You can read
more about the pension conference here.

Last month, we also launched the first in what will be a series
of video responses to "Stop the Lies" against public service employees.

Make no mistake. This is an all-out war on public services and
the men and women who provide them. It is the fight of our lives. And to meet
the challenge we need every AFSCME member to engage in this struggle together.

              In solidarity,

                    GERALD W. McENTEE
                    President

                     LEE A. SAUNDERS
                    Secretary-Treasurer
