Thank you Kim for supplying us with this otherwise hard-to-find info.
Hope you came through this ok.

(just got power back, but roads all around me are closed, and city crews are
responding to an emergency high-tension powerline problem).

There is a special needs shelter at Florida High located at 3000 Schoolhouse
Road. That shelter opened earlier today.

Chip,
The Lighthouse of the Big Bend is closed today and tomorrow so Yolanda may
not respond.
I would suggest finding shelters for the disabled by doing an Internet
search for your area.
Be safe everyone!

Thanks Yolanda,
Are there special shelter arrangements for those with disabilities? How/who
should be contacted if you needed to use such a shelter?
Thanks.

Hi All,
Below is a letter from Valerie Beynon, Access Coordinator with the Bureau of
Preparedness and Response.
Stay safe, everyone!
-Your friends at Lighthouse of the Big Bend
Good afternoon everyone,
In response to Tropical Storm Hermine in the Gulf of Mexico, the Governor
has declared a State of Emergency for the following counties:
Alachua, Baker, Bay, Bradford, Brevard, Calhoun, Citrus, Clay, Columbia,
Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton,
Hernando, Hillsborough, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lake, Leon, Levy,
Liberty, Madison, Marion, Nassau, Orange, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam,
Seminole, St. Johns, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor, Union, Volusia, and Wakulla.
For clients and customers on medications, the State of Emergency also allows
pharmacists to dispense up to a 30-day emergency prescription refill of
maintenance medication to persons who reside in an area or county listed
above and to emergency personnel who have been activated by their state and
local agency but do not reside in an area covered by this order.
Please refer to the release below for more information and a link to the
Executive Order. If you have not done so and are in the line of the storm,
now is a good time to implement your personal or family disaster
preparedness plan. If you don't have one, please visit FLGetAPlan.com to
