StarMetro Enhances Its Weekend Service:
Azalea Saturday to run every 25 minutes and Night 4 to serve FSU on Sundays
November 15, 2012

Saturday, December 1, StarMetro will implement its newly enhanced weekend
service.
The changes to the weekend service stem from ridership trends and customer
feedback gathered from listening sessions held in September. The changes to the
weekend service include:

* Azalea Saturday - The route that runs along West Tennessee Street will go
from a 50-minute headway to 25-minute headway from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. This
change will give customers twice as many opportunities to board the bus. A
headway refers to the amount of time between each bus.

* Red Hills Saturday - The route that featured a 30-minute headway will now go
to a 50-minute headway.

* Tall Timbers Saturday - Like the Red Hills Saturday, the Tall Timbers
Saturday will go from an 30-minute headway to a 50-minute headway.

* Night 4 - The Night 4, which runs Monday through Saturday nights and on
Sunday during the day, will change slightly to incorporate Florida State
University’s Second Circle next to Doak Campbell Stadium. This small map change
will allow students to travel between Alumni Village and the college campus on
Sundays. This map change only affects the Sunday portion of the service.

These changes are operating budget neutral. Savings from the Red Hills Saturday
and Tall Timbers Saturday routes will go towards the increase in service for
the Azalea Saturday route, the most traveled route in StarMetro’s weekend
service.
