You also might consider sending copies to the mayor and our councilmember.
As mentioned last night, I think political/policy pressure on the department
might help it leave behind its (old) "best practices" mindset and move toward
more innovative approaches that include the city's climate goals as well as the
canyons' value to wildlife (plant and animal) and humans.
