I wanted to send some reminders about the Children’s Easter Celebration THIS
Sunday, April 7th!
HUGE thank you to those of you who have volunteered to help in some way this
weekend, to those who donated pre-filled eggs, and also to Sharon Allen’s
mother, Charlene Guynes, who contributed $150 to our event. This has helped
tremendously with our supply costs. As of last Sunday we counted approximately
2,200 eggs (yay!) So we are super thankful for our church family who
contributed as well.
1. Tomorrow morning we have set-up from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The more who
show and are able to chip in, the quicker we will finish. Set-up will include
ensuring the tables and stations are all in position and decorated, putting up
a large banner, setting out our crafts, organizing stations, ensuring
everything is squared away in the kitchen for use the next morning for baking
our resurrection rolls, etc. I hope that those who volunteered to help on
Sunday morning during the event are able to make it to set-up because I would
really like to go over the timeline and details in person. If not, then at
least the segment leads (Amber for craft, Virginia for rolls, and Melody for
hunt) so we can ensure we’re all on the same page :)
2. Tomorrow is also the day that we would like those who signed up to bring
resurrection roll supplies/ingredients to please bring them in during set-up
time. I show that Michelle is bringing 2 bags of large marshmallows, Amy is
bringing a tube of crescent rolls, Amber is bringing 2 tubes of crescent rolls,
Melody is bringing 5 tubes of crescent rolls, and Virginia is bringing a 1 lb.
pack of butter, parchment paper, and cinnamon and I’m bringing sugar. ** I show
childcare will be needed during set-up time for my family (2), the Conerlys
(2), and the Salehis (2). Let me know if anyone else will need childcare for
tomorrow morning.
3. Sunday: We are still on track to follow the schedule/timeline I sent out in
a previous email. If those of us helping Sunday morning could please arrive in
the gym no later than 9:30 a.m. ready to go, that’d be wonderful. Families may
arrive early and we want to be ready. **Amber is the lead for the Last Supper
craft (it is super cute) with Amy Stone and Dera Webster as helpers. **Virginia
is the lead for the Resurrection Rolls (also amazing) with Ashley and Lydia
Clark helping as well as Suzette Rogers. We will have craft and face painting
stations during this time as well while the rolls bake if there is anyone else
available to help during this segment either in the gym or in the
kitchen.**Melody is the lead for the hunt with Michelle Salehi and Rebecca
Patten as helpers. We are going to have the children sign in as they enter the
gym so that we can calculate approximately how many eggs will be needed in each
of the 3 groups (3 & under, 4-1st grade, and 2nd-5th grade) and possibly set an
egg limit per child if we have a huge turnout. Having 2,200 eggs and by
splitting the children into age groups, I am hoping we won’t have an issue with
children taking all the eggs and not leaving some for others. Robin will be
dressed as the Bunny and will lead the groups outside to the designated hunting
areas (the 2 playground areas and the grassy area around the side and front of
church). Although Melody is the overall lead for this, I think it would be wise
to have a lead for each one of the 3 age groups. Melody will need help “hiding”
the eggs (great job for husbands!!) I am leaving it up to her for when she
wants to hide them — either during the 9:00 church service or during the 1st
half of the Easter event since we won’t hunt until the end. It doesn’t look
like it will rain which is great!! Gym is reserved as back-up just in case.
4. The hunt will conclude the event and Clean-up will take place at 11:00,
immediately following the hunt. I show myself, Michelle, Virginia, Amy, Melody,
Rebecca, Audrey (and Julie), Suzette, and Dera are signed up. The more the
merrier and the quicker it’ll be cleaned :)

Celebration that our circle will be sponsoring on Sunday, April 7th during the
Sunday School hour, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. This event is open to children ages
2-5th grade. Again, it is an optional event and Sunday School/childcare will
still be available for those who will not be participating, but we encourage
families to attend as it will be a special time to fellowship and celebrate our

supper through His resurrection.
Audrey has both the kitchen and gym reserved for us that weekend for set-up on
Saturday, April 6th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and then for the actual event
from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. I will be sending out a sign-up genius immediately
following this email. If you have volunteered to lead or help with a segment
the day of the event, please try to attend the set-up so that we can run
through the schedule for the following day.
Audrey has met with Amy McBroom for publicizing the event within our church.
Please help spread the word about both the event and donating candy-filled eggs
(deadline for eggs is Sunday, March 31st). Audrey so kindly placed donation
baskets around the church for members to place their pre-filled eggs in.
Egg-citing News!!! The Bunny costume HAS BEEN FOUND. I repeat, Bunny costume
HAS BEEN FOUND :-) Robin has volunteered to play the role of the Bunny, which
will walk through as the children are enjoying their snack and then lead them
outside to the egg hunt. Parents are welcome to snap photos of their children
with the Bunny throughout this time.
Following is the draft schedule:
10:00 - Welcome/Prayer
10:00 - 10:15 - Last Supper Craft(s) (Lead: Amber; Helpers signed up at this
time: Amy)
10:15 - 10:30 - Make Resurrection Rolls (Lead: Virginia; Helpers signed up at
this time: Sharon and Suzette)
10:30 - 10:40 - Craft/Story while rolls bake
10:40 - 10:50 - Open rolls to find the “empty tomb” and enjoy them as a snack
with juice boxes (ingredients are needed for the resurrection rolls - see
sign-up genius if you are able to donate a food item. Please drop off food item
during set-up time on April 6th).
10:50 - 11:00 - Easter Egg Hunt (Lead: Melody Herrmann; Helpers signed up at
this time: Michelle and Rebecca) I recommend splitting up the hunt by age
groups. Perhaps ages 2-4 on smaller fenced-in portion of playground closest to
church, grades pre-K-1st grade on larger fenced-in portion of playground and
grades 2nd-5th around the grassy areas next to the side/front of the church.
Michelle suggested setting a limit on the # of eggs each child can take from
the hunt. We can decide upon this once we know how many eggs we’re working with.
11:00 - Conclusion of event
11:00 - 12:00 - Clean-up
