The COMMON WOOD NYMPHS are flying at Hamilton Creek Prairie,
Clatsop, OR. in unusual numbers this season.

In most years, I figure I'm doing well if I see one or two, but
today I saw at least 11 in the space of about five minutes. This
may be common in other parts of their range, but not here on the
lower Columbia.
Wood Nymphs like grassy fields that don't undergo a lot of mowing
or "pest management". Other lep-watchers on the Lower Columbia
may want to spend some time checking out likely locations.
