I guess I’m wondering if I have to take my birdfeeders down now. Or just
bring them in at night? I’m not sure because I’ve never had this happen
before. I certainly don’t want to attract a pest to the neighborhood. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Perhaps more excitement than you were looking for at the feeders...
I found bear tracks at the Snowy Plover nesting areas in Lane, Douglas,
and Coos Counties when I worked as a Plover biologist for two seasons
several years ago now.
