Nikolai,
10 grams is a recommendation for safety, particularly for those not
experienced in making it. Manufacture of CP involves heat. CP ignites very
easily by the smallest spark and burns very fast. I typically make larger
batches but that's because I have a lot of experience with making and
handling it.
On a side note, CP should be stored with a dessicant as it absorbs moisture
and loses its potency.
