SD 14.0629.1900 md 70.1450 *** USS SUFFOLK *** ** Inner surface, Dyson Sphere ** * Shuttle Craft crash site * "Anything ?" Lt.Cdr St.Ives demanded of the Security officers who were now attempting to access the flight logs from the damaged computer core. "Not yet Commander. The fire from impact seems to have fused the memory circuts." The enlisted man shook his head as another chip went flying over his shoulder." Flight pattern records, even log enties are gone. "Little Black Box ?" The XO asked as the other security crewman, Master-At-Arms Recruit Jocelin handed her a twisted mass of metal and ploymers. She exchanged glances with the MAA, "I see... Doctor ?" she called out to Science officer still in the back of the ship. "Not enough to go on." she shook her head to the negative as she walked back to the fron of the ship, her head burried in her tricorder. "I thought you just needed a tiny amount for testing ?" Ivy asked. Mary subconsiously adjusted her blue framed glasses, still not looking up from her work. " Testing? No. Just a small amount. A hair, a bit of shlufed skin...any body fluid... all I need is any cell with a nucleus..and usually It doesn't matter how old it is... we've taken prehistoric samples and gotten good data... but all I had left back there was latent finger prints and a few skin cells... Captain Von Frieburgs, and another humonoid who's not in the Federation Data Base." "Are you saying there was an intruder on board ?" Ivy suddenly became more interested. "Not exactly... could be a new crew man who has not been to Sick Bay Yet for his check in... or Mission Specialists like Dr. Dunross and myself. They might not be on file.... I've only been in Star Fleet 4 months, I can be pretty sure I'm not on file with SUFFLOK." "So who is this person?" St.Ives asked. "If I'm reading this right, it's Vulcan... or Romulan. They're too close to tell on a tricorder... need the equipment on the ship to be sure." "Romulan ?" "That's not what I said." Mary shook her head. " It's similar...and just because I found their DNA, does not mean they were on this ship...he could have been a shuttle maintinace worker for all I know. Trace DNA is just not enough to form a theory that complex on. " "What can you tell me then ?" "That Captain Von Frieburg was on on this ship, that he spent time sitting at the OPS panel up front, and that he did remove an EVA from the locker." "Did he get out of the ship mid flight ?" "Can't tell." Mary shrugged. " That's what ships logs are for. Remember... I'm a pathologist, not a psychic." "Noted." Ivy said dryly. "Hall ? Take Kelman and Jocelin and check the perimiter, use a circular pattern, but keep the ship in sight." "Aye Sir." The older of the two Master-At-Arms nodded his head. "And set phasers to Level III... heavy stun." Again, the Senior Security Rating nodded. "Doctor, I suggest you do the same." Ivy turned around. Mary looked around, somewhat embassed. "I...ah.... I...you see..." She began fumbling for words. "Let me guess...you didn't bring a phaser." Ivy said in a discusted tone. "Well... I'm..." she began, but Ivy cut her off. "I know... you're a Pathaologist, not a cop." Ivy offered sarcastically. " Here." she handed Mary a Phaser I. The smaller version of the one carried by SEC personnel. Ivy re-set the ID grip, taking her palm and print signature out of memory. "Just grip it tight and hit that third button." The XO instructed. "I sort of remember this from training, but was never that good with them... my instructor said I couldn't hit the broad side of a shuttle bay even if I were standing inside if it." Mary admited, trying to apply her most disarming grin. "We'll talk about this later Doctor." Ivy said in a clipped voice. " Let's join the search, we'll take an opposite position from Hall's team. Cover more ground that way." Yet in the back of her mind, Mary wondered how many Horror movies started with, "Cover more ground that way ? " Respectfully Submitted.
