[studiorecorder] Does Changing Pitch Affect Speed/Tempo?

Hi, Everyone.
I was thinking I could use Studio Recorder to change the pitch of a
piece of music I purchased--need to sing the piece a step lower than
the key on the purchased karaoke track. Would changing the pitch
affect the tempo of the track significantly? Is there a better option
to do what I need to do?
