Jaws 5.0 is my version at this time. I can do the alt+e and select copy because when I try it after inserting the brackets, I can't open the new document to paste the selected copy into. Thank you.

Hello:

The reason this is happening is because JAWS is very annoying in this
regard. I tried JAWS 5.0.844 and while I received the "No text selected"
message, it seemed to work anyway. What is your exact JAWS version? I
remember having a version where it didn't work, and I had to write a
script. I hope we can get you through this without needing to write a
script, unless, of course, you want to.

When I have selected (with the left/right brackets) a segment to
highlight
and to copy, I tried the control+c and it said no text selected and
when I
tried the control+d to open a new document with the segment, I couldn't
do
that. I asked my friend Brian and he told me to try the alt+e then the
copy
command. Is there another way to bypass this jaws problem and why is it

happening? Thank you and enjoying this program incredibly!!
