Hi all!
This new version adds the more sophisticated nesting we discussed at our
field testing in Idaho last week. Three main new things in regards to this:
1. The nesting tab gathers the nest automatically based on geography and
image basemaps. The display is still pretty basic and it only shows parents
and children of a spot for now (no grandchildren, for example). You can
navigate quickly though a nest by tapping on the listed children or
parents. Note intersecting polygons are ignored for now until we discuss
how to handle them.
2. Continuous Nesting: On the nesting tab turn on continuous nesting. This
will keep track of all subsequent Spots edited or viewed. When continuous
nesting is turned off a new polygon Spot is automatically created that is a
parent of all of these Spots.
3. Surface Feature Type: If a Spot has polygon geometry there is a new
option on the main Spot tab to describe what type of surface feature this
polygon is representing. The new KoBo form for these still needs some work
to include more options.
