Alga zaps Sean as a reminder that "Alga" and "sacrifice" should NEVER be used

The party (making the assumption that they will utilize Mawby to gather
transfer of funds) and will sell any jewelry, etc. that does not detect as
magic.
This will gather a few things:154 gold in copper, 1259 gold in silver, 40
gold in platinum; 53,300 gold in jewelry and 4500 in gems.
I have not seen the bracers, ring of spell turning, or the white elf's
broadsword yet spoken for. There are an inky black vial and four unread
scrolls (from the leather portfolio) also yet claimed or investigated. Also
the 19 magical arrows.
The gnomes by contract earn 10% of what is recovered. So they will earn 5925
gold and you have a 3000 debt to Verka's group (not sure how that will be
enforced). That will give each OG $6291 before paying off henchmen, training
costs, etc.

Well, Holly can carry 500 pounds worth via air freight (I think). But, more
effectively, we need to contract with somebody to send a ship. Somebody
other than Patty, obviously. I figure someone goes to Aarell, arranges to
purchase supplies, and hires a ship to come. Perhaps talk with various
merchants about making monthly runs here. The more settlers we get, the
more consumers for their goods. If we can get one ship a month to drop by,
or even maybe one every couple of months, we'll be in great shape.
But that would be easier with a dock/pier. And a lighthouse, or something
else to mark the safe harbor. And we can get others to come in if we hire
or encourage some shipwrights to settle here. Naval stores such as caulk,
spare timber, even just fresh water, would make us a safe harbor for
vessels. Some catapults would help defend the harbor. We have a wide
shingle of a beach to pull ships up on to recaulk, scrape barnacles and all
the other necessary maintenance for ocean going vessels. We haven't got the
men or expertise yet, but it would be a focus of recruitment, were it up to
Sean.
As for the recaulking of the ship seams, we have plenty of marsh, which
means likely plenty of fiber plants like milk weed and cattails. Those
fibers are used with a glue-like substance to caulk ship seams. Sean really
thinks the cove could become a premier dry dock. If we had access to
timber, we could become a shipyard.
But, as for Joseph's initial question, the money needs to be where it will
be spent. Nothing to spend it on in the cove just yet, so if we want to buy
stuff, we need to lug it with us to Aarell. Which, as most of the party
knows, has a bank.
Lots of things involving lots of different NPCs, but it's the networking of
all of it that will make Dugal's Cove indispensable to the region. Someday.
As for the location of the dock, with the main entrance to the caverns
close, I would suggest the dock be built nearer the mouth of Middlecreek,
rather than North Creek, where the former main entrance was. But, to be
fair, the cove itself is essentially the confluence of North Creek and the
Sea, so if we built the first dock off Middlecreek, it wouldn't be
technically the cove, if I understand the map.
That said, there is an island some six or seven miles ESE of the mouth of
Middlecreek. That would be a great place to put a watchtower to protect the
harbor.

We haven't really had a party conversation about our next moves.
Sean would suggest the bulk of the gnomes remain here. However, he'd like
Kelbis to tag along. It's that connection to the sword, and Farab's avatar
leading him to it.
I guess at least one run back to Aarell will be required. Pick up supplies,
arrange for regular stops by a merchantman. Or Commodore Wilson. And speak
with Mawby about diverting new arrivals with sufficient intestinal fortitude
to the Cove, or at least having an unofficial recruiting post set up.
Plus, Sean has a lady-in-waiting waiting, And I can think of at least half
a dozen people we've "vetted" who might yet be interested in settling here.
Josef and Natasha, three other yeoman farmers, just to start

willing to send a squad and Kelbis or Donik out with the OGs. Given a couple

a few more gnomish females might make the troops a bit happier as well. Or
some human females and the necessary climbing equipment (Manrug smiles;
several other gnomes twitter.)
Joseph would like to get enough wood to start seasoning it for building a
dock for boats, assuming that is ok with Ahearn.
Pomeroy would like to examine all of the gnomes and others and confir with
Xander and Elmore about the health of all of the people here.

Is Kelbis's sword any part of this ritual?
Kelbis's old sword should remain in Manrug's Company.
Sicarius would like to be considered for the White Elf's (Wight Elf?)
broadsword.
Sean would love the longbow, but he didn't make it through the combat
intact, and thinks Speaker Greenmantle should have first dibs. I do believe
he has already laid claim.
Sean will ask for the arrows (did they detect as magic?).
The bracers should go to Xander. Y'all can fight over the cloak. As long
as the xp's are pooled and divided, as I think they usually are, Sean could
not care less for the cloak, bracers, etc.
As for any monetary treasure, once the value has been established, the
gnomes given their share, the party allotted the remainder and divided, Sean
would like his share in the most transportable manner possible; expensive
jewelry or gemstones.
Sean needs to train. Steve can determine for how long. I assume the
destruction of the altar will be pro forma at this point. Our next quest
seems to be the establishment of a Shrine to Artor. And Sean will be
actively looking for something for Carandolana. And we've been directed
toward the Mindola chain. But Sean will not go until he completes training.
Thereafter.. well, the gods command, and we obey, over they seas and far
away...
When contemplating our next moves, Sean would suggest that, as Manrug's
Company settles in at Dugal's Cove (assuming that is the plan while those
who require training do so) and we bring settlers in to farm, fish, etc.,
Kelbis comes with the party wherever we go. Detached service from Manrug's
Company if we don't bring them along, or with the company if we do,
obviously. And, obviously, if we don't commence bringing settlers in, there
would be no need to leave the company behind to protect them. Sean will
leave such determinations to the rest, but whatever decision is made, Sean
will have suggestions.

Sorry for the delay Hagar! He ordered the group into the water.
Assuming Holly, Carnodolana, and Ahearn lead, they will have no problem
getting through the water. It is as if an underground stream crosses through
the passageway. Someone could probably swim in either direction, but how far
it goes is unknown. You couldn't do it if you were claustrophobic. It would
be tight for Holly or Carndolana. No way Hagar or Johnny Mac would fit.
On the far side of the water obstacle is the same smaller cavern that was
once a transporter to ancient ruins 100 miles or more away. It is not clear
if the transporter is working. There are the remains of a brick wall that
was once put up here. (kind of anti-climatic; I can roll for some demons if
you would like?)
Regarding the odd throbbing sword, it seems to like Lt. Kelbis best. He is a
really nice gnome as well. He can turn his current +1 broad sword to another
gnome unless someone else has a need for it. Over time, it will become
evident it is a dragon slayer sword. It will only work on evil dragons,
however.
How is the rest of the treasure being divided. The snow is starting to melt.
Pomeroy has directions from Beathan on how to destroy Dal's altar. Remember,
you have previously mentioned the altar. It will require building a bonfire
around it of freshly cut hardwood and then carving sigils of the
good-aligned gods into each piece. The fire must be started with a
silver-handled torch. After the fire is lit, the hands will need to be
removed from the altar and submerged in holy water, and then added to the
pyre. When the altar is burnt, the whole area will need to be soaked in holy
water and then the ashes buried in a sacred grove.
