Thanks. Carandolana won't know this until she's told by Sean or others from
that side of the fight. I think our side was full disclosure on the list, so
the other characters will know about it when time comes to exchange notes. Too
bad there's nobody on hand to write them down...

Assuming you pretend to not know this until such time as Sean can actually fill
you in, I'll run it down for you.
Sean, Ahearn, Holly and Elmore engaged the last hag, and some of her supporting
cast, including a big wolf and a big ogre as well as a pair of fireflies.
Everybody was doing pretty well against them, then Sean got hit with a heat
metal and had to get out of his chain or be burnt to a crisp. He did so, and
the rest dispatched everything. Unfortunately, Ahearn got laid out. So we
withdrew from the caves with Ahearn, stabilized him, and re-entered the caves,
leaving him outside. Sean, Holly and Elmore advanced through the caves looking
to link up with the main group assumed to be coming through from the other
side. Elmore decided it was not wise to go any deeper into the cave, and he
returned to stand watch over Ahearn. Holly and Sean proceeded a bit further,
the Sean took up an ambush position from which he could still see a bit without
advertising his location with his flash tube. Sean was seriously beaten up,
from the heat metal and a few other hits. He borrowed Ahearn's fire resistance
in the hope that the might get some relief from the blistering his armor did to
him. It did not do so immediately, and Sean feared wearing the armor, even if
he could, would result in his death since he'd never get it off in time were he
hit with another heat metal spell.
So, Sean was in an ambush position in the caves, and Holly advanced. She found
the caster and hit it with a solid backstab, at which point Sean turned on his
flash tube and charged into battle, shooting all the way. He hit the caster
once, likely disrupting a spell. In the next round he was point blank and he
drilled the bastard. meanwhile, unbeknownst to us, Holly ventured into the are
of affect of a confusion spell. The caster disappeared, Holly took a swing at
Sean, and Sean retrograded for a bit, to keep the caster from getting behind
him, and to get into a position to keep from getting hit by Holly. Holly left
the caves altogether. Sean then heard sobbing and chains rattling and
investigated. Sean found Nancy, Sarah, Eggbert, Theo, Ernst, the guy with the
name beginning with C, and an unconscious half elven thief that stole Ahearn's
mount some time back. Sean tried rescuing them, grabbing a set of keys off the
wall, but the keys didn't open the shacles, and attracted an ogre, who Sean
promptly killed. Sean loked around some more, and found some keys on an ogre
he killed earlier, and they opened the shackles. The seven were chained near
the ogres. Anyway, Sean got them out. Nancy insisted he go back in to find
Lori. So Sean went back in. Then Nancy urged Elmore to go along as well, and
between the two of them, they found Lori. That first set of keys seemed to do
the job for releasing Lori, but something was attracted to the group, so Sean
urged Elmore to get the girl out, and he killed the steamy intruder (though,
from a grammatical perspective, we were probably the intruders). Anyway, I
think the rest of the group was there when Speaker Greenmantle brought Lori out.

Because at some point our DM will want to know, who besides Xander stayed with
the freed captives? Sean would have suggested all the NPCs. Xander in
command, Rarmuck commanding the archers, Nancy 'commanding' the freed captives.
But, Sean does not command, and Speaker Greenmantle might want some trusted
archers with him.
