I pull Sean into a tight hug, slap his back and then hold his shoulders. "You
have never let me down, my friend. I made a lot of mistakes too, I should have
told her to let the horses go and stand the line with us where we could have
protected her. I love horses, but people come first. Always. Most of all those
I care for and who depend on me."
"I won't say anything to try and stop you from feeling this loss," I add. "I
feel it more keenly than you know. I was very fond of her, in the short time
together I felt a bond with Rangi. I have made arrangements for her brother to
receive her things and her funds. It's the only family she had other than us."
I swallow a hard lump, let go of his shoulders with a pat or two, "Mother has
her now, and will hold her until we all get home to her halls where we will
drink and tell tales again."

Sean sees Ahearn, and approaches him directly, an unreadable look to his
visage. When he gets to him, he looks him in the eye, and steels himself.
"Ahearn, brother, I am so sorry for Rangi's loss." His eyes well up, and he
looks down. He reaches for Ahearn, for something of a hug. "I let her down, I
let you booth down, and I don't know that I can make up for that. I know that
such is the wages of war, but..." Sean sniffles. "Brother, I feel her loss
deeply, as I know you do. I..." he stops.

Subject: [stoddard] Looking for Ahearn at the Beer Creek Conference
Sean will look for Ahearn at the conference. He has no idea who from the group
is there, beyond Carandolana, Holly and Xander. I presume Hagar and Gwyn will
be there as well. Elmore is training. Not sure if Ahearn came or not. If so,
Sean will seek him out in a quiet moment.
Sean sees Ogbert, and will go to him and greet him. He will ask about Alvin.
He will not really volunteer anything, but will answer any question asked to
the best of his ability. He remains somewhat discomfited being in such
settings with such personages. He's perfectly able to talk when he has
something to say, but seems somewhat subdued in such august company.
Again, Sean is looking for Ahearn.
