Back in the day,m I worked with a Korean vet (well, I worked with many, at
more than a few jobs). He used to work with me at the A&P deli. The deli
manager didn't like him, thought he worked too slowly. He was a nice guy.
Made his own crabapple wine, and gave me a bottle though I was three years shy
of being old enough to buy it. He was a sergeant, weapons platoon. He would
talk about being in the army, and being in Korea, when I pressed, but never
anything regarding combat. He came close one night, but then clammed up.
Never pressed him.

Tim, Back at you. I went to Perkins this morning for breakfast. It was fun to
see all the old Nam guys there. Maybe a couple from Korea even. My son
continues the tradition. He wears his grandfather's name tag on his blues. I
used to wear it as well.
