I was overall happy with the draft as it happened. Day 1 and 2 went as one
might expect, even if you didn't want a QB like me you were not surprised they
took one. I was surprised by which QB, but either way understandable. I might
actually feel better in that I don't trust that Willis is a year away from
being ready to lead an NFL team.
Day 3 also went chalk as far as the Steelers almost never doing what I think. I
thought Heyward was a possibility, BUT in the 7th. I also thought a later round
QB, exactly like Olakodun, should happen BUT that was if we had not taken a
Day 1 QB. Obviously NO issue with the 2nd WR and am actually ok with the
project LB.
I went in hoping for no QB, or a late rounder at best, a NT, S and WR ( in no
particular order). I got 2 QBs and 2 WRs and yet I am still ok with the draft.
I actually see hope on offense and with the usual IF Tuitt and Alualu are back
and am confident we will be solid on D. Not to mention Jack, Coach Flores,
solid CB ( still think Haden may surprise and return) and Minkah, Cam and TJ.
The BIGGEST question is now QB. If I were to bet I would say Mitch is Day 1,
Kenny backup, Mason gone and Olakodun is inactive project.
I saw Mark Madden sort of bash team for signing Mitch only to draft a QB. I
also saw a panel of analyst and ex players who said they would bet that Kenny
would be starter.
The logic being if he and Mitch are close, you go with the younger /cheaper
guy. I don't see the Steelers cutting/trading a guy they gave $5M signing bonus
too unless they can trade him for a pick.
Either way, as usual, I am excited for OTA's ready for all the stories about
the UDFAs that will be great but never make the team.

PS I would like them to end the GM drama and just name the new guy.
