Technical Writer Needed to Create Manual
Seeking a technical writer to document my company’s computer system by
creating an operating manual.
The system is used for commercial real estate. We use personal
computers running under Windows 7. We have a database software
program, Goldmine, that interacts with various software products. You
do not need to know Goldmine. Our system is state of the art. It is
run on Window OS (Windows 7, Windows Server 2012). Also have MS
Office 2013. There is Networking and Networking Devices. Also have
Synology with a 4 terabit drive. Quicken is also used.
The goal is to document the entire system in case anything happens to
my computer consultant. We hope he will be with us forever as he has
been outstanding in his consulting with our company. He has been our
consultant for more than seven years. He will assist the technical
writer in creating an operating manual and he will be available to
answer questions.
This could involve a fair amount of work. The writer will not be an
employee of our company, but will be an independent contractor. I
prefer someone either in Marin County or close by to facilitate
personal meetings. I expect the writer to have at least 15 years of
experience as a technical writer with excellent references. I am not
technically oriented but believe the system is not very complicated,
but there are many parts to it.

required to sign an NDA. You should be very familiar and experience
with the software mentioned about except for Goldmine. Provide five
references. Provide a sample of a technical manual that you have
written. I am interested in the layout of the manual. You must be
very experienced in writing technical manuals.
