Subject: [srg-idpa-discuss] CT proposed gun laws
I suspect almost everyone on this list is a member of CCDL. If not, you should
consider joining if for no other reason than keeping up with the laws being
proposed in this CT legislative session.
Some examples:
Tax on ammo to pay for research into gun violence (this comes up every session)
Law to require all handguns sold in CT to have both a manual safety AND a
magazine disconnect
Law to limit purchases of handguns to 1 a month (supposedly to stop proxy
buying)
Lots of other laws - far too many to list.
We need to help defeat these laws. CCDL has a good handle on how to write
letters, how to testify (if you feel so inclined), etc. We can have an
influence.
I know I'm preaching to choir, but I figure I'd put it out there in case it
motivates a few more to write letters to their reps/senators. Think about it:
if they throw enough new law proposals out there, some of them will probably
pass. And as far as I can tell, most of them would cause us a lot of harm.
