Also want to mention there are 5 pistol matches in January, and the trend
looks like it will continue to grow. 2 USPDA, 1 IDPA, 1 Outlaw, and just
today they announce a Steel Challenge match. Search Practiscore for both
Academi and 06420. Don't ask me why, but matches seem to be listed by one or
the other, but not necessarily both.
Bottom line is there are some good indoor matches in January at Academi, and
my bet is trend will continue.

Advanced Glock Maintenance- Glock handgun, full strip and reassembly –
This clinic will show the student a basic fieldstrip, cleaning,
lubrication, and reassembly of their Glock brand pistol. Once the student
understands the basics will move into a more complete disassembly and
reassembly of the slide and frame of their firearm. Upon completion of this
clinic the student will have a better understanding on how their Glock
pistol operates as well the knowledge necessary to complete the proper
required maintenance for their handgun.
Gear needs – Glock firearm, any generation any model. Eye protection.

Use of Cover and Low Light Pistol Operation-
This clinic will go over how to shoot from behind cover and shooting in
low light/no light situations. You will learn/practice: shooting from behind
various forms of cover, such as walls and barrels, shooting from strong and
support hands, reloading, shooting and moving, and basic flashlight
familiarization, all in lighted and low light conditions. A basic knowledge
of firearms safety and handling is required.

The New Shooter and Their Firearm-
All too often, first time gun owners find themselves with no viable
training opportunity, other than target practice on a public range. For
some, that experience can be intimidating and often counter-productive. This
clinic is designed to introduce beginner level shooters to proper range
protocol, the safe operation of their personal firearm, and basic
marksmanship. This is the next best thing to private, one-on-one
instruction, for a fraction of the cost.
Objectives:
• Perform administrative loading and unloading procedures for selected
firearm.
• Apply marksmanship fundamentals under live fire conditions.
• Conduct condition 1 and dry reloads.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, re-assemble and function check select firearm.
Gear needed-
• Firearm – limited to one handgun, rifle (5.56 mm/.223 caliber
maximum), or shotgun (must be equipped with full butt-stock); to
include at least one magazine if applicable; speed-loaders are optional.
• Ammunition – 100 rounds minimum, brass cased only (handgun or
rifle); a minimum of 50 slugs only (shotgun).
• PPE: hearing and eye protection.

Defensive Shotgun-
This two-hour clinic is designed to meet the needs of anyone choosing to use
a pump-action, or auto-loading shotgun in a defensive situation. Topics
covered will include the following:
• Marksmanship Fundamentals
• Pattern Testing
• Combat Loading Procedures
• Carry Conditions
• Malfunctions and Stoppages
• Defensive/Practical Course of Fire
Participants should be able to demonstrate proficiency in safe long-gun
handling on the administrative range. Upon completion, the participant will
also have to demonstrate safe long-gun handling on the dynamic range. Muzzle
discipline and awareness are PARAMOUNT!
The following list of equipment and materials should be provided by all
participants:
• Pump or auto-loading shotgun (no single shot or double barrel
shotguns)
• A sling would be preferred, but is not essential.
• Bandolier, or belt mounted dump pouch.
• 5 dummy rounds, 5 rounds of #8 bird shot, 10 slugs, 60 rounds of 00
buck.
• Hearing and eye protection.
