Kelly, you're probably right, but I'm not sure N1PRK didn't take at least
the 5 wpm Morse exam for his Technician - I don't know.
But the situation isn't as bad as I thought, N1PRK John Wittey was NOT
convicted of a previous road rage assault, but he was found liable in a
civil suit where the bar is less - a preponderance of the evidence, rather
than "beyond the shadow of a doubt".
So he was able to buy a handgun legally, but even then he had a restraining
order back in 2003.
I still believe we have laws that are supposed to protect us in
Massachusetts but they don't enforce them,
I'll keep you updated if it turns up that he got the gun illegally.
My point still is that criminals get guns no matter what the laws are and
if we don't enforce the gun laws, it is dangerous for the law-abiding
citizens.
Fortunately good men and women can still get hand gun permits.
In John Williams's case, he was shot in the only place he didn't carry his
sidearm - his home - by someone he thought was a friend.
Very sad, very, very sad, especially for poor Anthony, he is in his teens,
to have lost his grandmother from cancer and the man who had just dropped
him off to high school to the crime that man committed against another
friend of his grandmother.
It's a horror, it really is.
