Everyone
Thanks to my Daughter in-law, there is a possibility that Hackers may have
gotten many of our personal ID info in which without our knowledge they can
apply for a new Credit Card, bank loan, etc.
There are 2 ways to protect yourself:
1. Call EQUIFAX, 800 685 1111, give them your name, the last 6 digits of your
SS
and your email address or I suppose your home address and for 1 year they
will
monitor your account for free, afterwards I don't know what the cost will
be? If
anyone applies for a loan or new Credit Card they will contact you to make
sure
it is you.
2. FREEZE, the same as above, free and then no one can apply, even you, to make
a loan or new Credit Card but you have to pay $5 or $10 to take the FREEZE
off.
3. There are two other companies in the same business, EXPERIAN, 888 397 3742
and TRANSUNION, 888 909 8872 and they will charge $5 or $10 to put the
FREEZE
on and to take it off another $5 or $10.
