Hi, it's Tyler, the one who suggested the sound collage project, and
who moderates and invented this mailing list. We only have a few
subscribers right now, but I've been working on sound collage
constantly. I'm not a typical "looping community" person; maybe I
belong more to the "sampling community". So I have a lot of sound
collage that I've made; sometimes I play music catalogue roulette;
some music catalogue websites give a number to each CD they've made,
so if the URL ends in 1, then it's the first album; if it's 650, then
it's their 650th album. So I'll have a program pick a random number
between 1 and 999, put it into a catalogue site that works with
numbers in the URL, and see what CD comes up. It could be old
classical music, it could be rap or metal! You never know! But I do
the good old YouTube keyword play as well. But most of my stuff is
made from the CD's and tapes in our collections.
