Potato Chips Are Not Dinner
Today's site, from a blogger combining the roles of food lover, art school
grad, and flight attendant, offers a delectable blog blending the delights of
the table with the pleasures of travel to distant shores. Gentle Subscribers
will discover delicious dishes with a foreign flair, wonderfully artistic
photography, and highlights of locations off the beaten path.
"I'm Paulina, a flight attendant currently eating my way around the world. ...
I started baking as early as the 4th grade, so I've had a passion and love for
food and cooking for as long as I can remember. ... However, my love for food
and cooking really exploded when I became a flight attendant nearly 7 years ago
... The combination of being in such an AMAZING food city [Chicago] and flying
around all the time made me really love coming home to my own kitchen and
creating a delicious home cooked meal for me and my orphan flight crew
roommates." - from the website
Laid out with considerable panache, this blog eschews the typical design and
instead opts for a visual feast. Fortunately, there's an efficient search
facility so that using the keyword "chicken", for example will bring up all the
references to that ingredient in the archive. The modest archive itself
displays photos of its contents with the briefest of descriptions inviting
visitors to "Read More." Recently featured on the homepage is a delicacy from
Croatia, a Fritule with Honey-roasted Grape Jam which includes a recipe for the
jam along with the little deep fried fritules, accompanied by striking images
of the ingredients; there's an article on Croatia as well.
