Jellies: Living Art - Monterey Bay Aquarium

Today's site, from the world famous Monterey Aquarium, presents a look at
some of the amazing specimens in their jelly fish aquarium. Gentle
Subscribers will discover an impressive array of outstanding "jellies" in
this manmade environment.

"Celebrate the aesthetic delights of living jellies and the magical ways in
which jellies and the marine environment have inspired artists in our new
"Jellies: Living Art" exhibit. This exhibit includes jellies never
exhibited in North America before, like graceful flower hat and blue
jellies, innovative artwork and even a walk-through jelly swarm." - from
the website

The site's initial display, in the "Shape and Size" gallery shows four of
the most impressive jelly specimens, and when enlarged, offers information
about their size, range, diet, conservation notes and some "cool facts".
Additional modules of the exhibit consider Rhythm and Movement, Color and
Pattern, and an Ecology Alert on these fascinating creatures. Interspersed
throughout the presentation are artists' works which have drawn their
inspiration from these beautiful jellies.
