Botanical Dimensions

Today's site, from this non-profit ethnobotanical organization, offers
information on the somewhat obscure field of the interaction of people and
cultures with plants. Gentle Subscribers will discover a succinct presentation
illuminating this branch of science.

"Botanical Dimensions has been doing good work with plants and people for
almost thirty years ... dedicated to ethnobotanical knowledge in its myriad
forms. ... Our original mission was 'to collect, protect, propagate and
understand plants of ethno-medical significance and their lore.' ... We work to
preserve biodiversity, respecting natural ecosystems and traditions of
ecological knowledge."- from the website

A committed determination infuses this publication with details of its mission
and projects. Various categories include Ethnobotany, which explains this area
of science and its importance; Projects, providing material on the efforts the
organization has undertaken recently in various parts of the world; and
Articles, describing upcoming conferences and workshops. An additional feature
spotlights an apparently modest slideshow of exotic plant images which can be
transformed into a striking full screen display.
