Berlin Wall Art
Today's site, from American photographer Edward Murray, offers his highly
regarded photographic collection of graffiti art from that icon of the Cold
War, the Berlin Wall. Gentle Subscribers will find a searing assemblage of the
protest art with which West Berliners enveloped their side of the Wall.

Helpfully arranged by geographic location through the introductory map of
Berlin, the exhibit presents hundreds of photos detailing the graffiti which
appeared on the Wall. Although some are in the nature of straightforward German
protest slogans, others, for example, the selection from Reinickendorf II / Map
Key 12, display colorful artistic designs. Thumbnails of each group provide an
overall view of each Map section, while selecting an individual photo opens a
larger image. Increasing the page size with the usual Control + keystroke in
most browsers highlights the impact of the art.
