        The Napoleonic Guide

For the history buffs among the List's gentle members, this website offers
an amazing amount of material of the period. The more than 1000 pages at
this site provides a wealth of information on all things Napoleonic for
those suffering from a history deprivation of the period.

"The aim of the Napoleonic Guide is to offer a one-stop reference site for
people interested in finding out about one of the most exciting and
turbulent periods in history. The main focus [is] on the period from 1796
through to 1815, although the preceding French Revolution will be touched
upon. . . It is our aim to cover as many areas as possible with the basic
information." - from the website

With such an extensive website a good site map is indispensable. The
Napoleonic Guide offers an excellent map which makes site navigation as
well as zeroing in on a particular topic very easy. From battles to love
letters to the rates of pay of the British Infantry as well as the French,
the site encompasses them all. This inclusive site covers naval warfare,
weapons, top soldiers and lyrics of contemporary songs. There's even a
weekly quiz. Fans of Sharpe and Hornblower will discover material on those
productions at the site as well. For the wargamers among the List's gentle
members, there are reviews of computer strategy games of the period.

March to the site for a superabundance of Napoleonic history to savor,
enjoy and bookmark at:
