that a notice that will ensure everyone has had time to check their mail and
take appropriate remedial action needs to be a little longer—say by end of the

Good morning friends,
I trust you are all well, and wish you prosperity this year.
I regret to inform all persons on this mailing list who are not paid up members
of Sopvid, that I have the unpleasant task of removing you from our mailing
list within the next twenty four [24] hours. This follows the repeated calls I
made to the list regarding regularizing our status by way of paying up the
Kshs. 3,600 for those who participated in Sopvid affairs prior to 2015, and
Kshs. 1,700 for those who joined last year. This very burdensome decision was
arrived at by the Sopvid committee and I was tasked to conduct the removals by
end last year.
I trust we all appreciate the challenges the society faces, given the various
expenses that need to be met, and members’ commitments are helpful in this
regard.
Please note that the door is still open and that those who are not on board
yet, to settle their obligation, and where they feel they are somewhat
constrained, we can work out a reasonable plan to accommodate this, while at
the same time, ensuring we fully meet the society’s membership requirements.
Therefore please feel free to contact me and we will do what we can to ensure
you remain part of Sopvid. We do not want to lose you, as we believe each and
every one of you is an important part of us, and is an important contributor to
our wellbeing.

year.
