CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
4th East Africa Human Rights Program (EAHRP)
To be held in Tanzania - April 24 to May 6, 2016
DEADLINE TO RECEIVE APPLICATIONS JULY 20, 2015

Dear all. Hope this message finds you well.
The East Africa Human Rights Program(EAHRP) is designed and
implemented by East African alumni of Equitas' annual International
Human Rights Training Program and the EAHRP itself. The 2016 EAHRP is
hosted by Tusonge Community Development Organisation, Tanzania and is
a regional training program targeting participants from East African
Countries. Now in its 4th rendition, this two-week training session
brings together over thirty (30) participants from the East African
human rights community and provides a unique opportunity for human
rights workers, defenders, activists and educators to deepen their
understanding of human rights and the essential role of human rights
education in effecting and sustaining social change.

The program provides a unique opportunity for participants to enhance
their knowledge about human rights and better address the challenges
they face, thereby strengthening the effectiveness of their human
rights initiatives. The program's participatory methodology provides a
framework for the sharing of expertise and experience, and reflection
among a tremendously diverse group of participants, facilitators and
highly qualified resource persons. The program contributes to
networking at both the national and regional levels and to
collaborative partnerships among representatives of civil society,
national human rights institutions, regional, and international
organisations, and governments.

In identifying who should apply, please bear in mind that the EAHRP is
intended for human rights workers and educators. The goal of the EAHRP
is to strengthen the capacity of human rights organizations and
individuals to undertake human rights education efforts (e.g.,
training, civic awareness, campaigns, information dissemination and
advocacy) aimed at building a regional culture of human rights.

Please note that the deadline for receiving applications to
participate in the EAHRP is July 20, 2015 and that only the 2016
Application Forms will be accepted. Applications should be sent to
