In a back and forth Q1, no team led by more than 6 and there were 9 lead changes. Boucher made 4 straight FT to put DAY up 26-24 until Grant hit a 3 to end Q1 with ROC up 27-26. A Vucevic 3 midway thru the 2nd put ROC up 39-34, but 4 straight points by McLaughlin cut the lead to 1. A Curry drive in the last minute of the half put ROC up 53-44 at intermission.
Curry and Harden traded 3’s a couple times in Q3 which ended with ROC up 80-71. A Curry driving layup put ROC up 92-84 with 6:08 to play. 7 straight points by DAY ended with a Gobert fastbreak slam cut the lead to 1. Curry hit 2 straight shots to restore the lead at 5. Gobert basket made it 3. Then Curry and Harden traded 3’s again to make it 101-98 with 1:45 to go. ROC defense kicked into high gear holding DAY scoreless until the last second of the game. In the meantime, Curry split a pair of FT and Grant made 2 FT to put ROC up 104-98 until Ingles desperation 3 at the buzzer ended the game at 104-101.
Curry scored 36, Vucevic 21 and 10 boards and Grant 18. Harden countered with 35, McLaughlin 16, Ingles 14 and Gobert 11 with 12 boards.
