The second game of a double header saw LOS again put up 37 points in the
first quarter with Harden getting 18 of them. Lake K got more balanced
scoring and scored 28 this time instead of not cracking 20 last game.
Unlike yesterday, LOS did not get another 37 points in the 2nd quarter and
was held to 28. Lake K did one better than yesterday's 2nd quarter and
scored 41 points with the FB going wild and surged from a 10 point deficit
to a 10 point lead. At the half, Lake K was up 69-65. Harden was now at
26 points but only Tatum at 14 was also in double figures. Smart was
receiving a lot of dazzlers and led Lake K with 19. Harrell added 16 and
Lake K had two players with 7 assists already.
In the third quarter, two minutes in and Harden was 10 for 15 from three
and only 1 for 1 from two point land. Harden had 35 points and it was late
in the 3rd before he got his first FT's of the game. Lake K reached a ten
point lead again at 85-75 but LOS tied the game at 95-85 and 98-98. Lake K
was barely ahead 100-98 heading to the 4th. Harden was up to 37 points and
Tatum had 17. Harrell was leading Lake K with 24 points while Gobert had a
game high 13 rebounds and LeVert a game high 11 assists.
In the fourth, LOS went on a 10-0 run for a 108-102 lead but Lake K
answered with a 13-0 run and 120-110 lead. LOS scored seven in a row to
cut it to 125-122. Tatum hit a D-8 three pointer with exactly a minute
left to cut it to 130-127. Lake K brought in Snell and ran a play for
him. LOS fouled the 2-12 FT shooter intentionally for two easy points (one
of the rolls was an 11). Harden missed 1 of 2 FT's and then another
timeout and intentional foul on Snell for two more automatic points
(rolling a 10 and 11). Tatum missed on a drive and Snell was fouled before
taking a FB shot intentionally. Lake K led 136-128 with 30 seconds left.
Lake K out scores LOS 40-30 in the 4th and wins 140-128.
Lake K led 42-20 in FB scoring and the biggest lead of the game for either
team was the final score. Harden scored 41 points but only 6 in the 4th
and only 6 assists this game. Tatum added 27 but missed 17 of his 27
FG's. Lake K had three players with double-doubles led by Smart's 29
points and 10 assists. LeVert scored 16 and dished out a game high 12
assists. Gobert had his usual monster game with 17 points, 5 blocks, and a
game high 18 rebounds. Harrell even scored 28 points that went mostly
unnoticed in all the other fanfare.
