The Gold blew open a close game with runs of 13 and 14 points in the 4th
quarter. Back-to-back PJ Tucker 3's put WIL up 25-13 with 1:10 to play in Q1.
But GRG chipped away at the lead and an Aaron Gordon inside shot with 2 seconds
on the clock cut the lead after a low-scoring Q1 to 25-20. SGA picked up 3
fouls in the first 6:45 of Q3 leaving with GRG up 36-33. The rest of the WIL
squad picked up the slack and a Maxey drive took the teams to halftime with WIL
in the lead 47-44.
A Alexander-Walker 3 at 9:21 of Q3 extended the WIL lead to 7 but a Gold 7
point run tied the game. WIL charged back into the lead by 5 on a pair of
Sabonis FT with 2:49 in Q3. Back-to-back 3's by Gordon and JaMychal Green put
GRG ahead to stay. Q3 ended with GRG up 82-77. A pair of Hernangomez buckets
extended the lead to 8 before a 13 point run fueld by 7 Siakam points brought
the lead to 19 at 104-85. The Gold ended the game on a 14 point run keyed by 5
points by Siakam and 7 by Randle.
GRG wrap up the victory 120-88. Siakam scored 27, Randle 24 and Gordon 18.
Holiday scored 10 points, dished out 8 assists and hounded SGA. GRG shot 54%
from the floor and 86% from the FT line. SGA led WIL with 16 points on 5-17
shooting. WIL only shot 40% from the floor and only 22% (7-32) from deep.
