Half of the first quarter was back and forth between the teams until it was
tied 13-13. Then Lake K exploded on a 17-2 run to make it 30-15. The lead
reached as high as 18 at 38-20 and Harrell missed an inside shot that could
have made it 40-20. Lake K led 38-22 after 12 minutes. ANA shot 35% from
the field and made only 1 of 10 3's. Jokic and Bradley each scored 5 for
ANA. Lake K shot 69% from the field and 50% from downtown. Griffin went
wild for 17 points while Harrell added 8 off the bench.
In the second quarter, ANA cut the lead down to seven at 51-44 with four
minutes left in the half. Lake K got the lead back up to 15 and at the
half led 62-49. Lake K now led 57% to 43% from the field. ANA was 2 for
14 from three while Lake K was 4 for 10. Both teams grabbed 20 rebounds
but ANA led 6-2 in offensive. ANA had one more assist and one more
turnover than Lake K. Griffin added another 11 points to his docket to now
lead all with 28 points. Only Harrell with 12 also scored in double
figures for Lake K. Bradley was struggling big time to guard Griffin but
was leading ANA with 15 points. Their only other double digit man was
Jokic with 11.
In the third quarter, Lake K pushed the lead all the way out to as high as
25 and led 95-73 heading to the fourth quarter. The FG shooting was
evening out more with Lake K only ahead 55% to 47%. Lake K made one more
three pointer in five less attempts. Lake K had made 9 more FT's in 10
more attempts. A 6-1 edge in turnovers in the quarter really hurt ANA.
Griffin was now up to a game high 40 points while Harrell was at 23 now.
Only Ingles at 11 was also in double figures. ANA still only had two
double digit scorers with Bradley still leading the way with 20 and Jokic
now at 14.
In the fourth quarter, the closest ANA got in the last 12 minutes was 17.
Lake K wins comfortably 115-91. Griffin went for a game high 48 points
just missing the big 5-0. He also had a team high 8 assists. Harrell came
off the bench and poured in 28. Curry was a non factor in scoring just 13
points. Bradley did not score in the fourth, so Jokic caught him for team
high honors with 22 points. Bradley finished with 20.
