Hi everybody,
By way of greeting we send you Ian Vincent's latest plane, newly
fitted with RC.
Here is Ian's description. The plans are all available On Outerzone (OZ)
. Have a look; this is plans bashing, an alternative to kit bashing.
Sources of inspiration in the building of BITZA.
Cirro-sonic OZ# 5416
Meteorite OZ# 3335
Martin OZ# 4407
Cirro-sonic
Forms basic ‘platform’, i.e. Wings and tailplane
are as per Cirro-sonic and are similarly arranged
on the fuselage. In profile the shape is altered
to provide a deeper section from trailing edge
of wing to the leading edge of the tailplane
Meteorite
As noted above, the profile was derived in part
from Meteorite, but neither this not Cirro
provided enough interior space for installing
radio control bits and pieces.
Martin
Martin was the source for the fuselage and was
built with 1/8 balsa strips in a simpler design
than that used for Martin. Also 1/32 sheeting
was added to the forward section for extra
strength.
The plane flew, as they say, ‘off the building
board’, and radio equipment was subsequently
installed along with an operable rudder and an
elevator. Again the plane flew perfectly with its
new payload – until, that is, the proud learner
owner pranged it. However, it has been fixed
and reluctantly retired to a cupboard for the
winter.
