Subject: [sogagg] Rite of Passage Distinguished colleagues, Because today is
Trek’s birthday and because we all know how dedicated our great golf mate is to
the Vulcan language, to the point he can effortlessly insert any of the nine
most famous Vulcan sayings into any sentence he wishes to do so, I offer you
the following in honor of our man – and his big day: It is “highly
illogical” that we would not wish to salute Trek on this auspicious day.
Knowing that“resistance is futile,” we have long endured Trek’s Vulcan
metaphors and even though there were times where he nearly drove us to the
point of placing our“Phasers on stun,” we never quite leapt over that edge of
toleration. So today, as we announce his rite of passage by “hailing on all
frequencies”the message of celebration and joy, Trek is eying that small cup of
ice cream (he’s now lost about 130 pounds) and is muttering to himself to “Beam
me up Scotty” because I intend“to boldly go where no man has gone before” so
let’s get this show on the road. Today is your day Trek, and question not our
good intentions because our reply could only be“I’m given’ her all she’s got,
captain!” and without a doubt you would respond“make it so.” And there you
have it Trek or, as they would say in the Vulcan world: LLAP – “Live Long and
Prosper.”
