How can it be that 5 years has gone bye since the SOGAGG seed was planted in
the fairways of San Diego and beyond.
Your vision, leadership and generosity in creating our esteemed Society is
unparalleled in modern times... I am so honored to be able to proudly wear the
SOGAGG uniform and extol the virtues you so eloquently outlined in your Rite of
Passage SOGAGG Birthday announcement. Let's raise a glass of your favorite

Fellow Society Members,
Five years ago today, April 15, 2013, the Society of Golfers Against Good Golf
was formed with eight members – today we stand at nineteen, all carefully
chosen and all now and forever marked for life as beyond redemption.
The charter of the Society was simple: Promote fellowship through a relaxed
round of golf that would often include before-and-after activities, and always
riven with irrelevant, humorous and perhaps on occasion, childish behavior.
The golf itself was to be nothing more than the medium used to attain these
goals and seriousness was to be frowned upon. To ensure the actual round of
golf was never the protagonist in this play, gimmies were to be allowed,
talking during putting was considered a norm and psychological games, played to
get into the heads of others, was expected. The only rule for the group is
“you win the round, you buy the round” and that certainly has made for some
interesting 18th hole play.
The recipe appears to be well constructed since wherever we go, our “uniforms”
draw comments of approval and invite queries as to how one can become a member.
Even more so, we have, over the years, taken on an altruistic bent that
includes supporting charitable events and even, as we are now, conducting a
charitable golf tournament at the behest of NDIA. Our sterling reputation
precedes us.
Happy Anniversary SOGAGGers, let’s just keep being us…
