Over all, were well done. My hats off to Shank and all previous reviewers.
My comments by hole are below:
Hole 1: What is the pre-tee off contest? Suggest replacing “next” in last
sentence with “remaining”. I had to read the last sentences a couple of times
to understand.
Hole 7: I assume the pre-tee off contest is the same one as in hole 1.
Hole 15 Confusing. Why not make it simple? The longest holed putt wins.
Hole 16 I love it!! We need to do this in SOGAGG now and then.

SOGAGG,
Please review the latest version of the on-course events for our Patriot Golf
Day. Comments must be in by COB Friday. Reply to all.
The concept behind this approach to our tournament is the brain child of our
visionary member sHank. The initial ideas have been through a series of
internal reviews, with the latest edit being a change from a Flamingo
(one-legged) drive on 16 to an Opposite-Hand drive. The result is four closest
to the pins, a long drive, a straight drive, and a long putt that will result
in awarded prizes. The other holes are set up for the players to have fun and
to keep the pace of play faster than a normal scramble.

Rules – I have no issues with the planned events/hole that you last provided,
however I would like to make sure that more people – Ace, KD, sHank, have a
chance to weigh in before saying let’s go with it. I would recommend that we
collect comments by some date, say this Friday or we call it a wrap and go with
what we have.
From my perspective I would like to settle on the on-course hole-by-hole events
so I can provide a draft break-out (that tees off what you have done) to Divot
so he can brief, along with others (TBD), to our volunteers. I will need to
get the break-out reviewed by you and sHank before Divot briefs it so while we
have to time until the tournament I would just assume put the check box on this
one so we can start marking things off. The break-out identifies the number
volunteers per hole, their locations with respect to the hole, if there is a
need for a floater volunteer for that hole, a cart or a canopy. I have a
draft break-out, but it was based on the previous hole events, so a little
tweaking and I will be ready to send over, as soon as we settle on the
hole-by-hole events.

Shaft, sHank,
This is the version to go forward for execution. Let me know if you need
changes in order to make this work, Shaft from the perspective of volunteers,
etc. and sHank from the perspective of pre-tee off games, etc. When you both
say we are ready, I will push the plan to Matt at the course to ensure they
don't have issues. Once that is solid, I will send the files to Helna to post
on the registration site.

Charlie/Rules - thank u for taking a stab at the holes contest revision, I
liked all the contests before, but I think the ones you laid out will speed up
play. Thanks for your imagination. We will have to talk about how to to time
a foursome’s play from tee to green on #12 (we can talk later, I am sure u must
have it figured out).
I would be glad to and still am to be on the committee (which I think might be
OBE at this point), but was waiting to hear back on the the timeline you mapped
out in ur email re to the shotgun start time and estimates for foursome play
time and award luncheon start time. Ur logic for time duration for foursome
play times per hole and moving the luncheon start time combined with changes to
the hole contests would seem to be a winner. I think we are getting real
close. Wait to see others input.

All, I did not receive any volunteers for the committee to complete this
effort.
I've taken a stab at a revised document (attached). Mostly, I changed the
four combined drive holes to new games. I also made modifications for some
of the recommendations. Please respond.
Time of Play. We are scheduled to tee off at 0730. Assuming we run a bit
late, the "A" foursomes should play a 5-minute pre-tee off contest and the
"B" foursomes should tee off no later than 10 minutes later. For our
purposes, let's say the "B" foursomes tee off at 0750. Pace of Play at 15
minutes per hole (4.5 hours) yields a finish at 1220. 18 1/3 minutes per
hole (5.5 hours) yields 1330. We desire to start the Awards Luncheon at
1230. It appears this is not likely. We should change the scheduled start
time to 1300 and be flexible if the players do not finish by then.
Actions to maintain pace of play.
-- Design the course events for 15 minutes per hole. Our design is focused
on players having fun at this event, but it also includes several concepts to
improve pace of play. We want the design to support the desired pace of
play, keeping to a minimum the encouragement our marshals need to give the
players.
-- Avoid vendor booths on the course. This allows players to move directly
to the teeing ground, or to the pre-tee off game for those few holes that
have one. It has the added benefit of giving the players a solicitation-free
round.
-- Train our volunteers. This ensures they know the game(s) for their
position so they can help the players complete the hole without delay.
