On the PRO side:
- seems like he is probably a nice guy
- seems like his golf fits SOGAGG
- SOGAGGers that have golfed with him seem to think he would be a good fit

- "Barrys" can be a bit of a risk; some are great, others not so much (Bonds,

After much deliberation, the PRO side has it, but that last CON almost carried
the vote...

Fellow SOGAGGers,
The purpose of this email is to formally nominate Barry King, another great
human being (and SOGAGG quality golfer), to our ranks.
Several of you have played golf with Barry and know him. I recognize that many
of you do not. Normally I would have included him in a bunch of our outings so
that everyone would have had the opportunity to get to know him and see what a
terrific guy he is. But life has a way of changing things.
Barry, who is 47 years old, had a stroke about 6 weeks ago, and it has left him
somewhat paralyzed. We are hoping that he will be out of the hospital this
week, and back home where we again hope that he will make the fullest possible
recovery.
Those of you who know Barry know that he is a fighter. For the past couple of
years he has been on the heart transplant list, making it all the way to #1
before his stroke. Now he must make a comeback so that he will again become an
eligible recipient. And those of you who have had the opportunity to play golf
with Barry, know that his heart condition did not slow him down. He played
with an LVAD battery pack around his waist, and always smiled, always had
something funny to say, and always made the day so much more fun.
If you agree to my request for nomination, then I would like his callsign to
be: “Bounce Back”. According to my sources, this term refers to “ Scoring a
birdie or better on a hole immediately following a bogey or worse.” I am
convinced that Barry will bounce back from his current medical condition, and
will be out there on the links much before the doctors tell him it is ok.
Thank you for your consideration of this nomination. I stand ready to answer
any questions about Barry, but would like to simply say that he would make an
incredible addition to our wonderful group.
