They're made from cardboard and therefore are light weight.  One of my clients 
bought one recently and yes it did have a light in it.

Does anybody know what these boxes are made from and will they stand up to 
being carried around?
Have checked out the link below and imagine there is no lighting provided in 
the $20 scanbox correct?

I don't know where you got that information but the Vision Australia warehouse 
has 100 in stock for $20 each.

If you call 1300 84 74 66 and ask to be put through to the shop and tell them 
you want a Scanbox+.  The code is EFOCR1000
