Play protect shouldn't be causing these issues. I wonderful if there is
something else going on.

Thank you for your reply.
I did manage to turn Play Protect off, and my wife was then able to send a
text message. We've since realised that this problem has existed for quite
a few weeks, as replies my wife was sending to a text message based survey
from Vodafone were not reaching the intended destination, even though the
questions from Vodafone were reaching my wife's handset.

You can't uninstall it; You only can turn it off.

Hi all,
Following the reply I received from Stephen Giggar, I've managed to disable
play Protect and my wife has managed to send a text to me while play
protect is disabled. Therefore I'm quite sure that it's Play Protect which
is the cause of my wife's inability to send texts. However, I can't find a
way to uninstall Play Protect.
