Thank you. It is entirely possible that I just need to upgrade SmartMusic. I
asked the students in my class, and didn’t get any reports of people having
problems after upgrading to Mojave.

Lynn

Hi Laurel and Lynn,
Thanks for sharing information about this issue. I would definitely like to
know if we should be advising our students to avoid upgrading to Mohave.
According to MakeMusic, Classic SmartMusic is supposed to be compatible with
Mohave
(https://makemusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/215590928-SmartMusic-system-requirements).
Is it possible, Lynn, that you aren’t using the most recent version of
SmartMusic? I believe it’s 2017.2.1.
I will try to poll our students to see if any of them have already switched
to Mohave.
Best,
Justin

Hi Laurel,
I am using Mojave and SmartMusic Classic. I haven’t noticed any issues
with it from the grade book side of things, but I just tried to do an
exercise and SM won’t detect my microphone no matter what I do. I don’t
know if this is related to Mojave, but it’s the first time I’ve had this
problem. I’m curious if anyone else has had this issue.

Hello, everyone.
As a Mac user, I am constantly badgered to upgrade to their new Mojave
OS, but I have been hesitating, because once or twice I recall seeing a
notice from SmartMusic recommending that SM and Mojave were not a good
mix. But I didn't pay close attention to the notice and now can't find
it, or any discussion of SM and Mojave online (Finale and Mojave yes, but
not SM specifically).
Does anyone have any experience with using Classic SM and Mojave, and if
so, have you encountered problems or has it been fine? I don't want to
jeopardize the usability of my setup for my aural skills classes 3/4 of
the way through the year.
Any and all wisdom would be greatly appreciated,
Laurel
