I have locally updated packages for i3 and I38 (new version) but there is small
issue with I38 that Storm will fix soon. We will also highlight the difference
between the "default" and the "ratpoison" modes to help users not acquainted
with rapoison and strychnine (the configuration script for ratpoison also
written by Storm).
When done I will upload the new packages and plan to provide in the same batch a
new kernel (6.1.23 which is the latest LTS one), and also an Audacity package,
rebuilt from the one recently provided by Eric Hameleers aka alienBOB, as we
have a newer version of ffmpeg than Slackware 15.0
When all this we behind us I will prepare a new ISO, allowing to install without
a DVD or USB stick, GRUB finding the ISO in a hard disk or SSD partition and
booting it. i3 will also be proposed as default graphical environment at end of
installation. I also consider relaxing the requirements to install Slint, like
not requesting a BiosBOOT partition in manual partitioning mode if the installer
booted in EFI mode.
Someone in a forum has requested to optionally allow installing only a "core"
system, just allowing to run Slint in console or text mode while making possible
to expand it later. Do you think it would be useful, and if yes for which
context or use case?
