When you log into root, you are at root's home directory which is either
named ~ for root or /root

To use root commands on the Voxin installer you have to change directories
to your user name, say your username is sl.

As root you have to change directories to /home/sl

Then Downloads is /home/sl/Downloads and voxin is /home/sl/Downloads/voxin

If you become root and try to cd Downloads/voxin you will get an error
because voxin is in YOUR username directory, not in root's directory.

You can also find it by using updatedb

As root give command:
updatedb

Wait and you will make the database.

Then send the command.

locate voxin

or locate voxin | more

You will see it, but when you are root, you have to use the full path, not
~ because ~ is not your home folder, it's root's home folder which is /root.

Start a terminal become root, go to /home/username/Downloads/voxin and
leave that terminal open so you can use it.

Then open another terminal and as user go to ~/Downloads/voxin and leave it
open.

Use one terminal for user commands and one for root commands.

working for me.
So I typed:
cd ~/Downloads/voxin
And it says something like file or directory not found. But downloads is
where Voxin is located so I don't know why its saying that.
I can cd into downloads just fine.
But when I add voxin to the cd command, it will not work.
So:
cd ~/Downloads/voxin
No directory found.
So I did:
cd ~/Downloads to at least just get into the downloads directory. Then:
ls
And it shows the folder names which contain the Nuance voices I bought.
So, one of the folder names is:
voxin-american-english-zoe-high-3.3rc4.tgz
But just cd ~/Downloads/voxin is not working.
Any suggestions?
