FYI IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED, PLEASE CONTACT CELIA SMITH DIRECTLY. SHE NEEDS AN ANSWER RIGHT AWAY. Since Sleaford is allocated 3 bags, the first 3 beekeepers to get back to HER would seem most fair. Note the courtesy jar of honey suggested below. It will be up to you to handle that. Please don't email me to send to her -thanks. Carole -----Original Message----- From: Celia Smith [mailto:sec.lincsbka@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: 02 August 2012 15:14 Subject: sugar Dear District Secretary An anonymous donor has contacted Alan Campion and offered LBKA several 25kg bags of surplus sugar. The donor wishes to remain anonymous and to ensure this Alan and I have decided how to allocate it and cleared this plan with the donor. The sugar has been stored for more than 2 years. It was purchased for making products for human consumption but the packs have deteriorated in storage so it comes with no guarantee of purity; the sugar is donated for feeding bees only. Some of the bags have absorbed moisture and some have suffered some damage from mice. Each District is being offered an allocation depending on the number of full members in the District. Your District has been allocated 3 bags and you can make your own decisions about the disposal of the donated sugar. The donor has requested that any beekeeper accepting the sugar might consider making a small contribution to a beekeeping charity. It would also be nice if the Districts accepting an allocation of sugar might consider sending a jar of local honey to me for forwarding to the anonymous donor. The collecting point is my house in Nettleton but if anyone going to help at the Taster at Rand on Saturday 4th August would like me to take it there I can do so. I really can't hold it indefinitely so any allocation not collected by 22nd August will be returned to the pool for reallocation. Please let me know if you wish to accept this offer and how/ when you can collect. Kind Regards Celia Celia Smith, Association Secretary, Lincolnshire Beekeepers' Association
