IMHO you shouldn't have any problem, however keep in mind that Slackware and Slackinosh aren't born as automatic dependencies resolving distributions ;-) if I'd were you I'll take a look at Slackware's UPGRADE.TXT ( http://slackware.osuosl.org/slackware/UPGRADE.TXT ), especially the sections about removed packages and newer addictions. A quick and dirty how to would be: + upgrade core system (glibc and so on) + removepkg removed packages + upgradepkg */*.tgz (not installed will be skipped) + installpkg newer required packages and new additions you'd like to have ciao - -- Marco Bonetti Slackintosh Linux Project Developer: http://www.slackintosh.org Linux-live for powerpc: http://www.slackintosh.org/pub/rsync/mb/linux-live My webstuff: http://sidbox.homelinux.org My GnuPG key id: 0x86A91047 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (Cygwin) Comment: http://firegpg.tuxfamily.org iD8DBQFGkz7TE3eWALCzdGwRAm8fAJ4w+MEZ2/827MZsaNJ0aGvNnOe8jACfXdKT d/FpATw/Pymg1kBLSnsBZ0Q= =KZ9Z -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
