It was 39 years ago tonight that I saw Frank Sinatra in concert for the
first time, at the CNE Stadium in Toronto. A couple of months ago I
revisited the subject and wrote a new blog about the experience. I wanted
to give some context to why there were so many problems that night and why
the hatred toward Sinatra in Toronto. You can read the new blog here:

One update since then. I stated that Sinatra's name does not appear in any
of the press in Toronto for Dorsey's performances at the CNE in 1940. This
is true of the big newspapers like the Toronto Star & The Globe and Mail.
Recently, however, I was searching through some old Ontario newspapers and
came across the following article from the now defunct Times And Guide,
Weston, Ontario, August 29, 1940. It is the earliest press of Sinatra in
Toronto in 1940 that I have come across.the only one in fact.
